ABOUT US

The Hamilton and District Chrysanthemum & Dahlia Society (HDCDS) is dedicated to assisting fellow gardeners in excelling in growing these beautiful plants. The members of the HDCDS enjoy growing these flowers for their beauty and exotic appearance. It is no exaggeration to say that people walking by our gardens stop and marvel at these gorgeous blooms.

Chrysanthemums and dahlias come in many forms. The plants remain the same but the blooms can vary greatly. See “frequently asked questions” for more information.

The HDCDS is quite a social group. We usually meet 2 times yearly in person to exchange and demonstrate our gardening and pruning techniques.  We often use zoom for other meetings. Everyone is welcome. Just contact the club and we will add you to our meeting.

The HDCDS hosts a friendly annual competition called the “Show” each September at the Royal Botanical Gardens. We are delighted to announce that we return to the RBG this September 2024 for our show. We usually hold an awards ceremony at a private dinner in November.
